The Board of Directors has decided to charge consumers 15 cents a live tree for Christmas this year in taxes. This tree is a tax to help fund the efforts of the Department of Agriculture to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees. It is said that this is not a tax, but when the government takes money from citizens and taxes. Of course, a part of any government is to do things that cause the bourgeois alternately laughter and tears. But there are often educational leaders as well.

Obviously, the Department of Agriculture thought it was a good idea, but one wonders if it goes through any type of decision analysis.
